In the 1970s, my mother bought a single-family home in Annandale, VA. We lived there from my birth until age 6. Bill Mountjoy was always around, but never lived in with us until we moved to the Town of Vienna. When I was 12, we packed our bags again and headed to Great Falls, Virginia.
People often imagine that financial security is indicative of a great upbringing. While poverty does increase the risk of struggles impacting development, children in affluent families can experience hardship as well. I grew up without any concern as to whether there would be food on the table, but I was also surrounded by financial exploitation, emotional manipulation, and physical abuse of Bill Mountjoy.
I'm not a psychologist. That being said, I feel Bill Mountjoy has narcissistic personality disorder. Regardless of the diagnosis, Bill Mountjoy and his brothers were self-centered, homophobic, racist, and routinely crossed sexual boundaries and objectified women. I don't expect anyone to take my word for it - watch the home movies (linked below) and draw your own conclusions.
This blog depicts actual events in the life of Shelley Mountjoy as truthfully as recollection permits.
